13.25 Newbury \u2013 Kalpana<\/a><\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to get away from KALPANA. You could argue she needed her first run last season in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh behind Los Angeles. She was a bit unlucky that day as she didn\u2019t get a clear run. While she didn\u2019t win first time last year, it was a deeper race and she can run well here. She has to give 4lbs to her opposition but Andrew Balding is well capable of producing her ready enough to win her seasonal debut.<\/p>\n

13.42 Newmarket \u2013 Indian Spirit<\/a> (each-way)<\/p>\n

The chances are the four-year-old\u2019s might have something up their sleeve against some of these older horses. Based on that, I\u2019m with Ian Williams\u2019 INDIAN SPIRIT. He had some good runs last season and Billy Loughnane taking the ride shows he thinks he can improve. He\u2019s a nice each-way option.<\/p>\n

Sacred Ground will definitely improve from her run at Newmarket but I was quite taken by GOLDEN ORBIT\u2019s win last September at Newmarket ahead of Ottoman Empress, who went on to win after that. That win was over 7f and this is over 1m 2f but it looks like she won\u2019t have any issues with the step up in trip. She could potentially be a player in the Oaks.<\/p>\n

14.35 Newbury \u2013 Sahlan<\/a> (NAP)<\/p>\n

I have no idea where I stand on The Lion In Winter! I can\u2019t be with him and while Damysus was impressive when winning at Newmarket last month, he\u2019s short in the betting. I\u2019ll chance the French raider SAHLAN for Francis-Henri Graffard. He was good at Deauville in August last year then he won the Prix du Moulin on Arc weekend. He didn\u2019t get the run of the race in Del Mar in November and there\u2019s improvement in him. I can\u2019t see him travelling over for the fun of it!<\/p>\n

I feel there\u2019s an advantage to being drawn closer to the stand side rather than the far side so that\u2019s led me towards GOLDEN REDEMPTION. He ran well at the Guineas meeting over 7f. He\u2019s up 2lbs for that run but he can still go close with a preferable draw in stall 10.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve ended up on ALBERT EINSTEIN. I wasn\u2019t fully convinced that he would have won over 6f but providing he\u2019s ridden aggressively, he should get the job done. It\u2019s worth noting I\u2019ve landed on him because I wasn\u2019t sure about Royal Fixation!<\/p>\n

15.27 Newmarket \u2013 Izzy Fast<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019m taking a chance on Philip McBride\u2019s IZZY FAST with Silvestre De Sousa on board. She had a form boost this week as she beat Creative Queen at Yarmouth last month with the latter going on to win at Yarmouth on Wednesday. She\u2019s off a mark of 72 and she could be rated higher than that!<\/p>\n

There are bigger days ahead for My Love Is King and Port Of Spain if connections genuinely think they\u2019re well handicapped. With both having cheekpieces on it has put me off so I\u2019ve landed on LOST BOYS for David Menuisier. He\u2019s lightly enough raced and he improved with every run last season before winning on his reappearance at Sandown in April. He\u2019s going in the right direction and he\u2019s worth siding with.<\/p>\n
