In Donegal, the fatal incident occurred on the N15 at Birchhill on the main Ballybofey to Donegal Town road at around 2pm on Saturday, May 16.<\/p>\n
Two occupants in one vehicle, a man aged in his twenties and a man aged in his thirties, were pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
Their remains have been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where post-mortem examinations will take place in due course.<\/p>\n
The Coroner for Donegal has been notified.<\/p>\n
A further two occupants of the same vehicle, a woman and a man both in their twenties, were taken to Letterkenny University for treatment of injuries believed to be non life-threatening.<\/p>\n
Two occupants in the second vehicle, a man and a woman in their forties, are being treated for non life threatening injuries in Letterkenny University Hospital.<\/p>\n

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are due to undergo a technical examination of the scene and the road has been closed.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n
A Garda spokesperson said, “Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1.30pm and 2.30pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Donegal Town Garda Station on (074) 912 5888, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.<\/p>\n
“Investigations are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in Dublin, a pedestrian in her twenties has died after being struck by a car in Dublin late on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on the N11 Bray Road, Loughlinstown in south Dublin at around 11:50pm.<\/p>\n
She was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The scene is currently under examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions are in operation on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are requesting information from the public that will assist in the investigation.<\/p>\n
“Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision, which occurred in Loughlinstown, Dublin on Saturday 16th May 2026,\u201d a spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt approximately 11:50pm Garda\u00ed and emergency services responded after a pedestrian was struck by a car on the N11 Bray Road, Loughlinstown.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pedestrian, a female in her 20\u2019s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe coroner has been notified and the scene is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local traffic diversions are in place.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement continued: \u201cGarda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.<\/p>\n
