Photo: Collins Courts<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom0 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Aaron Connolly, who has spent over three years serving a life sentence for the murder of teenager Cameron Reilly, has had his conviction quashed after the Court of Appeal found that the trial judge&#8217;s instructions to the jury lacked balance and in parts may have been seen as \u201cadvocacy\u201d for the prosecution case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom0 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Mr Justice John Edwards said on Monday that \u201csuch were the stridency and emphasis\u201d of comments made by Mr Justice Tony Hunt while he charged the jury, \u201cthere is a real possibility the jury could have perceived that he was personally convinced of the guilt of the accused and that implicitly he was pressing them to deliver a guilty verdict\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BREAKING\u00a0|\u00a0 Aaron Connolly at the Central Criminal Court.
