It was a night of glitz, glamour and family bonding as Miriam Ahern made a stylish entrance at the Platinum VIP Style Awards last Saturday evening, arriving in the company of her granddaughter Robin for the teenager’s debut at one of Ireland’s most hotly anticipated nights on the social calendar.

The annual Platinum VIP Style Awards took place at the InterContinental Hotel in Dublin’s Ballsbridge, which saw the great and the good of Irish celebrity-land descend on the D4 hotel in all their finery.

And the Ahern ladies certainly did not disappoint, turning heads on the red carpet in a coordinated all-black showcase that proved great style truly does run in the family.

Robin is, of course, the eldest daughter of best-selling author Cecilia Ahern, who is in turn the youngest daughter of Miriam and her ex-hubby Bertie Ahern.

Miriam looked every inch the elegant matriarch in a stunning black lace gown, layered beneath a striking floral-embroidered satin coat that added dramatic flair to her look. Her signature silver hair and bold red-framed glasses completed an ensemble that was at once timeless, distinctive and classically fashionable.

A delicate bracelet and pearl drop earrings added the finishing touches to a look that radiated quiet confidence and classic Irish glamour.

Meanwhile, Robin dazzled in a glamorous black strapless sequinned gown, featuring a daring thigh-high split that revealed strappy embellished heels beneath.

Clutching a sleek black satin evening bag, the young fashionista wore her hair in soft waves and carried herself with the kind of poise that suggests this certainly won’t be her last appearance on a red carpet.

Now in its 23rd year, the event was hosted by Dancing with the Stars favourite Jennifer Zamparelli, who helped welcome Ireland’s most stylish celebrities for a spectacular night of fashion and glamour.

The red carpet got underway at 6pm, with Moët & Chandon welcoming guests on arrival and Malfy Gin mixing cocktails at the reception, before guests settled in for a lavish dinner and, of course, the awards themselves.

For Miriam, the evening was clearly a special one, sharing such a memorable milestone with Robin and introducing her to one of Dublin’s most glamorous social occasions.

If Robin’s debut style statement is anything to go by, the next generation of the Ahern family is more than ready for the spotlight.

[32
321,93,61,60
post-455067","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-celebrities","tag-celebrities","tag-entertainment","tag-ie","tag-ireland
["GET
