The <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/neil-young-sued-by-chrome-hearts-fashion-brand-over-new-band-name\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">complaint<\/a>, filed last September, argued that Chrome Hearts LLC had owned the rights to the name since 1991, decades before Young debuted the lineup, in 2024. Young\u2019s band\u2014featuring Micah Nelson, Corey McCormick, Anthony Logerfo, and Spooner Oldham\u2014released its <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/neil-young-announces-first-album-with-chrome-hearts-derides-elon-musk-in-new-song-listen\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">debut album<\/a> in 2025. Neither party has responded to requests for comment on the circumstances in which the lawsuit was dropped, such as whether a settlement was reached.<\/p>\n<p>In the original complaint, Chrome Hearts LLC alleged that \u201cclothing and apparel vendors have apparently already mistakenly assumed\u201d a link between the band and clothing line, and were \u201cactively promoting that purported connection.\u201d The brand requested Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts to stop using the name, which appears to have been in vain.
