\n\tAhead of the May 19 launch of \u201cForza Horizon 6,\u201d Xbox is teaming with actor and car enthusiast Sung Kang, Japanese music festival Zipangu and Los Angeles-based design studio Uprisers Lab on a limited-edition capsule centered on upcycled Japanese denim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe collaboration includes two jacket styles inspired by Japan, the setting of the latest installment in the \u201cForza Horizon\u201d racing franchise. Both versions are constructed from upcycled Japanese selvage denim and feature laser-etched graphics including cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji imagery, Japanese sports cars and \u201cForza Horizon 6\u201d branding.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Zipangu x \u201cForza Horizon 6\u201d style features reflective 3M trim along the seams that becomes more visible under headlights or flash photography. Inside, the jacket includes a custom game-branded lining, a pocket sized for gaming controllers and a removable zipper pull designed as a collectible accent.<\/p>\n

\n\tLimited to six pieces, the jacket features a periwinkle-toned wash inspired by Tokyo<\/a>\u2019s evening skyline alongside the hand-sewn cherry blossom appliqu\u00e9s, sashiko-style patches and laser-etched references to Japanese drift culture and in-game iconography.<\/p>\n

\n\tInside the Sung Kang edition are several utility pockets, including compartments for controllers alongside rechargeable LED lighting threaded through the seams. The lighting system cycles through eight modes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe collaboration launches alongside the inaugural Zipangu event on May 16 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The festival, a large-scale celebration of Japanese music and culture, features artists such as Ado, Ataradhii Gakko! and Man With A Mission.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs a celebration of Japan\u2019s landscapes, energy and cultural influence, \u2018Forza Horizon 6\u2019 gave us an opportunity to create something fans could experience beyond the screen,\u201d said Aaron Greenberg in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tMichelle K. Hanabusa, founder and creative director of Uprisers Lab, said the project was intended to extend \u201cthe life of material and memory\u201d through upcycled construction and storytelling-driven design.<\/p>\n

\n\tKang added that the collaboration merged \u201ccars, culture and craftsmanship\u201d through a project influenced by both Japanese street racing culture and his upcoming film \u201cDrifter.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cForza Horizon 6\u201d launches May 19 across Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud and Steam, with a PlayStation 5 release planned later this year.
