\n\tDrake <\/a>sampled Lykke Li\u2019s<\/a> \u201cLittle Bit\u201d on 2009\u2019s So Far Gone, and now he\u2019s interpolated the Swedish singer again, this time her breakthrough hit \u201cI Follow Rivers\u201d nearly two decades later on his new Iceman album<\/a>, which arrived on Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\tRolling Stone<\/a> caught up with Lykke Li over the weekend to get her thoughts on Drizzy circling back to shrewdly interpolate her 2011 EDM-infused bop on the spiteful \u201cJanice STFU.\u201d \u201cI think it\u2019s potent. It has that raw, revenge, hip-hop energy,\u201d she said of the Iceman standout.<\/p>\n

\n\tLi thought she was being trolled by co-writer Rick Nowels, who informed her via email that Drake wanted to use \u201cI Follow Rivers\u201d on Iceman. Most of all, the 40-year-old appreciates all of the different lives that the global anthem \u2014 which exploded following a The Magician remix \u2014 has taken on over the years.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI mean, it is the most mysterious, incredible gift of my career because it\u2019s had so many lives and different iterations,\u201d she added. \u201cWith certain songs, there\u2019s an alchemy or symmetry to them that allows them to have their own life in the world. And as a songwriter, that\u2019s the greatest wish. I\u2019m so grateful and blessed to have one of those songs that doesn\u2019t even belong to me. It has a life of its own.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFittingly, it\u2019s almost as if Lykke Li manifested reconnecting with the 6 God, as the singer admitted she\u2019d been \u201ccraving\u201d Drake and bumping classic tracks like \u201cMarvin\u2019s Room\u201d recently. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cStrangely enough, I\u2019ve been really craving Drake\u00a0and have actually been listening to \u2018Marvins Room\u2019 lately,’\u201d she revealed, name-checking the 2011 Take Care song. \u201cThe old Drake was such an era. When you\u2019d walk into a room and they\u2019d play \u2018Hotline Bling.\u2019 \u2026 So yeah, I was missing him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLykke Li performed at Coachella in April and dropped her The Afterparty project earlier in May. As for the OVO boss, Drizzy returned with Iceman on May 15 alongside Habibti and Maid of Honour to complete a trifecta of LPs.<\/p>\n
