{"id":456939,"date":"2026-05-19T16:52:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T16:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/456939\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T16:52:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T16:52:11","slug":"aqua-band-breaks-up-after-30-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/456939\/","title":{"rendered":"Aqua Band Breaks Up After 30 Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aqua has dropped some not-so-fantastic news.<\/p>\n<p>After three decades together, the Danish-Norwegian eurodance group\u2014whose most recent lineup included Ren\u00e9 Dif, S\u00f8ren Rasted and Lene Nystr\u00f8m\u2014announced they were splitting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter many incredible years, we have decided to close the chapter of AQUA as a live band,\u201d the band wrote in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DYe46JCt5bl\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram post<\/a> on May 19. \u201cAQUA has been such a huge part of our lives, and together we\u2019ve had the chance to experience more than we ever dared to dream of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cBarbie Girl\u201d artists expressed gratitude for the love and opportunities their fans have provided them over the years, adding, \u201cWe\u2019ve traveled the world countless times, met so many wonderful people, sung together with millions of you, and shared memories that we will carry with us forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, they explained that they wanted to quit on a high, choosing to wind down the group to preserve their legacy.
