\n\tNicholas Galitzine<\/a> may have seen all his strict dieting and hard work at the gym pay off to transform into He-Man for \u201cMasters of the Universe<\/a>,\u201d but he didn\u2019t mind when that training came to an end.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI had to go into a movie three weeks later where the director said, \u2018I need you to not look the way you look right now, so eat what you want, stop weightlifting,\u2019\u201d Galitzine told me at the \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d premiere Monday night at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. \u201cI said, \u2018That is music to my ears. I\u2019m not going to do anything for three weeks.\u2019 And I\u2019ll tell you, it\u2019s depressing. It takes so long to put on, [but] it\u2019s so quick to come off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSo what did his non-training meals look like? \u201cI was like, \u2018Macaroni cheese,\u2019 but you don\u2019t even want to know,\u201d Galitzine said. \u201cIt was sickening.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDirector Travis Knight explained why Galitzine was perfect for the part even before seeing the physical transformation. \u201cIt\u2019s a very daunting ask to ask any actor and say, \u2018Hey, you\u2019re going to be the most powerful man in the universe.\u2019 That means boulder shoulders. That means giant biceps. That means rippling pectorals and six-pack abs. Who wants to embrace that?\u201d he said, laughing. \u201cBut my man Nick, he completely embraced what that means. And that meant he had to transform his body. Nick is an extraordinary actor\u2026But no one\u2019s ever really seen him as an action hero.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cI knew Nick had all the qualities that you needed to bring a character like [He-Man] to life. He has vulnerability, he has charisma, he has charm, he\u2019s very funny and then he had to transform his body.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked about possible \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d sequels, director Travis Knight insisted, \u201cI think we\u2019re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves because we approach all these things as if we have one chance of telling a story and we put everything we had into it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat said, he added, \u201cIf the world wants more, we\u2019ve got more stories to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tArriving at the premiere, Camila Mendes, who plays Teela, looked at her image on one of the giant posters lining the purple carpet. \u201cIt\u2019s pretty effing cool,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel like I\u2019m pinching myself. I\u2019m thinking a lot about little Camila tonight, who never imagined. This is such a rare opportunity, I\u2019m just trying to soak it in. I never thought I\u2019d be premiering a massive film at the Chinese Theatre. It\u2019s just so surreal. You never know if these things are going to happen again, so I\u2019m just enjoying it. I\u2019m being present.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGalitzine only recently saw the \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d billboards. \u201cI\u2019ve been shooting this tiny little indie movie, and have had no time to myself, and so I haven\u2019t been out and about, and I kind of thought, \u2018Oh, well, they must have just not started putting the He-Man posters up,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cYeah, cut to me flying into L.A., and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, this is kind of a little bit overwhelming.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, in other Galitzine news, he briefly touched on \u201cRed, White & Royal Wedding,\u201d the much-anticipated sequel to \u201cRed, White & Royal Blue.\u201d Galitzine returns as England\u2019s Prince Henry with Taylor Zakhar Perez reprising his role as the son of the U.S. president (Uma Thurman) and Henry\u2019s boyfriend.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s so rare that you get to return to something, so it felt like a really wholesome experience,\u201d Galitzine said. \u201cYou\u2019re getting to work with Taylor and Uma again, and Lena Headey [is] joining us. I had a great time filming it.\u201d<\/p>\n
