Credit unions have topped the list of Ireland\u2019s most reputable organisations, according to the Ireland Reputation Index 2026, which looks at the 100 of the country’s most important organisations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Credit unions topped the list, with ahead of the IRFU and An Post. In what was a turbulent year for the tech sector,\u00a0Elon Musk’s<\/a>\u00a0X ranked in 100th\u00a0place while Meta<\/a> in 99th.\u00a0<\/p>\n The index is based on a representative sample of over 5,000 adults across Ireland between January and March, and\u00a0 measures their perceptions of 100 of the largest, most familiar, and most important organisations in Ireland across 16 sectors.\u00a0 Companies are ranked on a reputation score from 0-100 and are grouped as excellent (80+), strong (70-79), average (60-69), weak (40-59) or poor (Below 40).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Compiled by The Reputations Agency with RepTrak, the index analysis looks to understand which components are driving reputation and what the public expects from the country\u2019s leading organisations. The most important drivers of reputation, in order of priority, are conduct, products and services, citizenship, leadership, workplace, innovation, and performance.<\/p>\n Credit unions came out on top, achieving an excellent reputation score of 81.7. Credit unions were perceived to be the most fair, friendly, genuine, and sincere organisation among the 100 studied.<\/p>\n “This recognition reflects the enduring trust that people across Ireland continue to place in their local credit unions, alongside the positive response from members to the continued evolution of our services and customer offering,” said Irish League of Credit Unions chief executive David Malone. “This ranking is particularly meaningful because it is grounded in the everyday work being carried out by credit unions nationwide to deliver high-quality financial services.
