Coronation Street’s Summer Spellman finally explains herself tonight after weeks of shifty behaviour surrounding Theo Silverton’s death<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Summer has emerged as the top suspect this week following the revelation that she’s been lying about her movements on the night of Theo’s demise.<\/p>\n

George Shuttleworth has called out Summer for her dishonesty, revealing that he saw her running away from Theo and Todd Grimshaw’s flat that evening.<\/p>\n

The local undertaker insisted that he just wanted to help Summer if she was in trouble, but when she refused to engage with him, he tipped off the police.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s episode sees Summer finally share her side of the story after Todd pushes her for answers about the last time she saw Theo.<\/p>\n

“It wasn’t a few days before he died,” Summer admits. “It was that night. The fact is, apart from who actually killed him, I’m pretty sure I was the last person to see him alive.”<\/p>\n

Asked why she lied, Summer replies: “Because I hated Theo. What he did to Billy<\/a>, what he did to you<\/a>. I was going to pay Carl to set him up and get him put behind bars where he belonged.<\/p>\n

“Then, when he was murdered, I was really worried that Carl had something to do with it, so I lied about where I was because I was scared.”<\/p>\n

Is Summer telling Todd the full story, though? Other clues still point to her being guilty \u2013 including the brooch she wore<\/a> at Carla and Lisa Connor-Swain’s wedding reception, which was found covered in blood.<\/p>\n

Summer also burned her journal, which contained long entries<\/a> about how much she hated Theo for leaving Billy to die and violently abusing Todd.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s episode ends with the police swooping in to arrest Summer following George’s tip-off. Will they buy her story when she protests her innocence?<\/p>\n
