The new strategic plan outlining an ambitious vision for the future of the Irish equestrian sector has been launched.<\/p>\n
Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) has launched its new Strategic Plan 2030 at the Sport Ireland Conference Centre in Dublin, reinforcing the organisation\u2019s commitment to excellence, welfare, participation and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n
The strategy sets out a roadmap for the development of Irish equestrian sport and breeding through to 2030, with a strong focus on supporting horses, participants and communities across the country.<\/p>\n
Developed through an extensive consultation process, the plan reflects input provided from more than 550 individuals, 27 affiliate organisations, and a wide range of stakeholders from across the sector.<\/p>\n
The plan identifies five core priorities that will guide HSI\u2019s work over the next few years:<\/p>\n
Partnership, influence and sector representation;
\n Excellence in breeding and high-performance sport;
\n Participation, access and development;
\n Customer value and sustainable growth;
\n Organisational capability and strong governance.<\/p>\n
The sport horse sector in Ireland plays a major role in the national economy and rural Ireland, contributing about \u20ac1bn annually and supporting more than 14,000 jobs.<\/p>\n
Ireland also maintains a world-leading reputation in equestrian sport and breeding, with Irish athletes and horses continuing to achieve success on the Olympic, world and European stage.<\/p>\n
The strategy also places significant emphasis on welfare, environmental responsibility, safeguarding and governance, with Horse Sport Ireland reaffirming horse welfare and participant safeguarding are \u201cnon-negotiables\u201d across all activities.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the launch, Horse Sport Ireland chair Dr Pamela Byrne said the strategy represented a significant milestone for the organisation and the wider sector.<\/p>\n
