{"id":461651,"date":"2026-05-22T11:38:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T11:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/461651\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T11:38:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T11:38:13","slug":"how-to-add-the-irish-examiner-as-a-preferred-source-on-google","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/461651\/","title":{"rendered":"How to add the &#8216;Irish Examiner&#8217; as a preferred source on Google"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has introduced Preferred Sources, a new feature which gives news readers more sway over which media content they receive in their search results amid the rise of AI overview and mode.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s all you need to know about this and how you can use it to see more coverage from the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/\">Irish Examiner<\/a> in your Google search.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu caption\">What are preferred sources?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The new concept will allow readers to customise their search results in order to receive more news results from their favourite or most trusted source.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This means users can use their Google account either on their desktop or mobile to find the Irish Examiner&#8217;s content in their search results.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu caption\">How does it work?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">When you select us among your preferred sources, you will start to see more of the Irish Examiner&#8217;s articles being prominently displayed in your Top Stories when we have published relevant news stories for your search.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The  Irish Examiner will appear much more frequently in the Top Stories and in a dedicated &#8216;From your sources&#8217; section at the top of the search results page.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">You will still be able to see content from other news sites, and you can manage your selections at any time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Google allow users to select as many sources as they choose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu caption\">How do I choose my preferred source?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n            Step 1:\u00a0While logged into Google, search for any topic that is in the news<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5086644_17_articleinlinemobile_ex_201.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"card-img\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n            Step 2: Click the card icon that appears to the right of the top stories section in your feed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5086647_17_articleinlinemobile_EX5.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"card-img\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n            Step 3: In the Choose Your Preferred Sources section, which would then pop up, search for the Irish Examiner\/irishexaminer.com and click the option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5087226_14_articleinlinemobile_ex_202.1.jpg\" alt=\"How do I choose my Preferred Source?
