\n\tDavid Bickel<\/a>, a TV writer and producer best known for his work on \u201cThe King of Queens\u201d and \u201cYoung Sheldon,\u201d recently wrote and directed an independently produced a comedy pilot called \u201cTo Life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the official description, \u201cTo Life\u201d is a single-camera, half-hour comedy that stars Natalie Lander<\/a> \u201can anxiety-ridden woman who suddenly discovers she can communicate with inanimate objects. What begins as a whimsical, magical-realist premise gradually unfolds into an unexpected and unsettling mystery.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a trailer for \u201cTo Life,\u201d Jason Alexander<\/a> plays a mental health professional who recommends that Lander\u2019s character tries microdosing hallucinogenic mushrooms to help deal with the death of her mother. Soon \u2014 after trying a larger dose than recommended \u2014 random items in her home develop animated faces and begin speaking to her, even after the mushrooms wear off.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with Lander and Alexander, the cast of \u201cTo Life\u201d includes Patton Oswalt<\/a> (\u201cThe King of Queens\u201d), Richard Kind (\u201cInside Out\u201d), David Paymer (\u201cMr. Saturday Night\u201d), John DiMaggio (\u201cFuturama\u201d), Jonathan Mangum (\u201cWhose Line Is It Anyway\u201d), Patrick Warburton (\u201cSeinfeld\u201d), Jodi Benson (\u201cThe Little Mermaid\u201d), Nick Bakay (\u201cSabrina the Teenage Witch\u201d), Tara Strong (\u201cThe Fairly OddParents\u201d), Debra Wilson (\u201cMad TV\u201d), Brad Norman (\u201cThe Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle\u201d), Nicole Sullivan (\u201cMad TV\u201d), Cedric Yarbrough (\u201cReno 911\u201d), Danny Trejo (\u201cBreaking Bad\u201d) and Lainie Kazan (\u201cMy Big Fat Greek Wedding\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tBickel describes the tone of the pilot as \u201c\u2018Fleabag\u2019 meets \u2018Search Party.’\u201d In a statement to Variety, he said, \u201c\u2019To Life\u2019\u00a0was born as a reaction to the stagnancy of Hollywood right now. Nothing is getting sold, nothing is getting made, nothing is getting done\u2026 So the pivot was: Let\u2019s gather a group of incredibly talented people who were eager to create and let\u2019s make something together. Something sharp and irresistible. I think we pulled it off \u2014 it\u2019s something we\u2019re all incredibly proud of, and we can\u2019t wait to share it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAJ Prager served as producer on \u201cTo Life,\u201d with Matthew Marder as associate producer and first assistant director and Will Turner as cinematographer.<\/p>\n
