<\/p>\nThe Republic of Ireland legend has reportedly walked away from the Hungarians after a year-and-a-half in charge<\/p>\n

Robbie Keane has reportedly stepped down as Ferencvaros head coach – fuelling rumours of a potential return to Celtic<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Republic of Ireland idol has been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead as uncertainty surrounds the future of interim boss Martin O’Neill.<\/a><\/p>\n Keane<\/a> has also been touted with taking over Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava.<\/p>\n The ex-Tottenham and Liverpool<\/a> striker led Ferencvaros to a 2024\/25 league title win and also lifted this season’s Hungarian Cup.<\/p>\n He’s also earned plaudits for guiding the Hungarians into the last 16 of the Europa League, finishing 12th in the league phase.<\/p>\n But now breaking reports in Hungary say that the 45-year-old has resigned after a year-and-a-half at the helm – just days after Ferencvaros relinquished their title to ETO FC.<\/p>\n Speaking just last week about his future, Keane said: “I ignore the rumors, only my two children read them. I feel good here, it’s an excellent club, with excellent people, an excellent president.
