{"id":462523,"date":"2026-05-22T23:45:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T23:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/462523\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T23:45:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T23:45:10","slug":"live-man-arrested-following-significant-drugs-seizure-in-county-limerick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/462523\/","title":{"rendered":"LIVE: Man arrested following significant drugs seizure in County Limerick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A MAN is being questioned by gardai following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/463\/crime-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">significant drugs seizure<\/a> in County Limerick<\/p>\n<p>Around 22.5kgs of suspected herbal cannabis was discovered during an intelligence-led operation which was carried out on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The location of the operation has not been disclosed publicly but gardai have confirmed it involved members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit and Revenue Customs Service.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in a garda station in Co.
