Prince William gave a rare radio interview this morning, and spoke about his wife Kate Middleton\u2019s cancer journey. \u201cShe\u2019s an amazing mum, an amazing wife, and, literally, our family couldn\u2019t cope without her, so, she\u2019s been absolutely stunning, brilliant,\u201d he said on Heart Breakfast.<\/p>\n

He said he was \u201cso proud, very, very proud\u201d about her recent trip to Reggio Emilia, Italy<\/a>\u2014her first overseas trip since her cancer diagnosis<\/a>. \u201cShe\u2019s been amazing. She\u2019s been through so much in the last couple of years, particularly. And yeah, she\u2019d been looking forward to the Italian trip a lot. And so I\u2019m really glad it went really well,\u201d the Prince of Wales said. \u201cShe wanted to go and do lots of research.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cShe spends god knows how much time now, looking through all the paperwork. She\u2019s a proper pro on early years. Most evenings I\u2019m fighting to get past in the bedroom, what paperwork that she\u2019s got lined up, ready to read. So, I\u2019m so pleased it went well for her, and yeah, I think she came back buzzing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince William also noted that \u201caway trips like that take a lot out of you\u201d and added that \u201cwe have to balance that, make sure she\u2019s okay and rested, but she\u2019s in good form.\u201d<\/p>\n

In September 2024, Kate finished chemotherapy treatment<\/a>, and in January 2025, the Princess of Wales shared she was officially in remission.<\/a> \u201cThe cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,\u201d Kate said in a personal message shared with a video of her and her family in Norfolk<\/a>. \u201cWith humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
