{"id":464371,"date":"2026-05-24T05:06:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T05:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/464371\/"},"modified":"2026-05-24T05:06:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T05:06:11","slug":"limerick-faces-significant-traffic-disruption-ahead-of-senior-hurling-match-gardai-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/464371\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick faces significant traffic disruption ahead of senior hurling match, garda\u00ed say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SERGEANT and Crime Prevention Officer\u00a0Michelle O\u2019Halloran has warned that there will be significant traffic disruption across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> city and its surrounding routes ahead of the Limerick versus Tipperary match on Sunday, May 24.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A number of diversions and road closures will be in place on the Ennis Road, the Shelbourne Road, and the North Circular Road area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sergeant O\u2019Halloran stated: \u201cWe\u2019re asking drivers to follow Garda directions and diversion signage at all times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To beat the expected crowds of up to 25,000 supporters at the TUS Gaelic Grounds, garda\u00ed have advised hurling fans to plan ahead and arrive early.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/hurling\/2085956\/cian-lynch-on-the-bench-as-limerick-hurling-team-to-face-tipp-revealed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cian Lynch on the bench as Limerick hurling team to face Tipp revealed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sergeant said: \u201cThe key main message is to park legally and responsibly. Do not block entrances, footpaths, park on green areas, or ignore restrictions.
