The BTS<\/a> Army showed up in full force at the American Music Awards. The K-pop group, recently reunited after mandatory military service, won multiple awards over the course of the night, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Summer for “Swim.” BTS also opened the show, with a pre-recorded performance from the Las Vegas stop on their Arirang tour, and made their first primetime television appearance since getting back together. <\/p>\n

A K-pop group of a different sort (the animated kind that hunts demons)\u00a0the singing voices of Huntr\/x, \u2014 Ejae, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna \u2014 took home the award for Song of the Year with “Golden.” The track from KPop Demon Hunters has been on an unstoppable awards tear since debuting last summer, up to and including Best Original Song at the Academy Awards back in March. <\/p>\n

The K-pop-influenced Katseye also claimed a major award, winning New Artist of the Year, shortly after performing their latest single “Pinky Up.” Only the five active members of the group were on-hand to perform and accept the award. In the speech, there was no mention made of Manon Bannerman, who is currently on hiatus from the group to focus on her wellbeing.<\/p>\n
