Paris Jackson<\/a> just opened up about her changing relationship<\/a> with her late father, Michael Jackson<\/a>, who is experiencing a resurgence in popularity after the release of the biopic<\/a>, Michael.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old actress sat down with Jack Osbourne<\/a> on his Trying Not to Die<\/a> podcast on Tuesday, May 26, detailing what it is like to be the daughter of a superstar.<\/p>\n

“There’s definitely a certain element where I felt I had to share everything,\u201d Paris said. “And that has drastically changed in the last few years, because I don’t really feel like any of us owe anyone anything.”<\/p>\n

Paris was just 11 when her father died in 2009 due to acute propofol intoxication<\/a>. Almost 20 years later, she is learning that why the public may want her to be open about her relationship with Michael, she has every right to privacy.<\/p>\n

“I’m now learning I can have my own personal relationship and I’m allowed to be private about it and I’m now like, my relationship is the most beautiful relationship ever,” she told Jack, who is the son of the late Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jack, 40, popped in saying: “I often get the [question], ‘What was it like to have Ozzy as your dad?’ and I’m like, ‘I don’t know what it’s like not to. It’s just my dad.'”<\/p>\n

Paris responded: “I think that’s the silliest question in the world,” before adding: “I’m in a very beautiful spot with my dad and I love that and it’s no one’s business and I don’t have to share that with anybody. And there’s a lot of freedom in that, which is really cool.”<\/p>\n

\nParis’s thoughts on the 2026 film Michael<\/p>\n

The American Horror Stories actress opened up to her seven million Instagram followers about the recent biopic that’s grossed nearly $800 million since its April 2026 release.<\/p>\n

“[I] read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest \/ didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it i moved on with my life,” Paris wrote to her Instagram Story, adding: “Not my monkeys not my circus. god bless and god speed.”<\/p>\n

Paris continued: “The narrative is being controlled. There’s a lot of inaccuracy and there’s a lot of full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me. I don’t really like dishonesty.”<\/p>\n

Instead of focusing on the biopic, Paris leaned into her career. She released her newest single “teenage drama” \u2013 which was co-written with Linda Perry<\/a> \u2013 on May 22. The song centers on generational anxiety, disillusionment, and about Paris’s life growing up under the shadow of her father.<\/p>\n

While she distanced herself from the film, her brother Prince<\/a>, 29, served as an executive producer. He attended the red carpet for the film’s premiere with his cousin and the star of the film,\u00a0Jaafar Jackson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It was a surreal experience,” Prince told KTLA5<\/a> about seeing his cousin embody Michael. “Jaafar, in so many ways, carries himself like my dad. He’s soft spoken, he’s got those eyes, and he’s very kind natured.”<\/p>\n
