Lucia & The Best Boys<\/a>\u00a0has teamed up with\u00a0The Last Dinner Party<\/a>\u2019s Abigail Morris for the smouldering new single \u2018Big Romance\u2019.<\/p>\n

It comes from\u00a0Glasgow indie artist\u00a0Lucia Fairfull\u2019s upcoming album \u2018Picking Petals\u2019,\u00a0the follow up to her 2023 debut record \u2018Burning Castles\u2019.\u00a0The new LP is out on July 31 via Communion\u00a0Records\u00a0and you can pre-order it\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lucia has already shared the singles\u00a0\u2018Lonely Girl\u2019 featuring Chvrches\u2019 Lauren Mayberry<\/a>\u00a0and \u2018You Look Like Somebody In Love<\/a>\u2019, and now she is back with \u2018Big Romance\u2019,\u00a0a collaboration with her longtime friend and\u00a0former bandmate Morris.<\/p>\n

The Last Dinner Party frontwoman once played a string of live shows on keyboards with Lucia & The Best Boys, and they sync up seamlessly on \u2018Big Romance\u2019, a baroque indie pop earworm touched with goth drama.<\/p>\n

Speaking about working with Morris on the track, Fairfull has said: \u201cShe\u2019s\u00a0the one who pushed me to keep going with the song. I started writing that when I was 22.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0lived through so many different lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lucia & The Best Boys teamed up with acclaimed alt-pop producer Yves Rothman for the new album and recorded it in\u00a0Mogwai<\/a>\u2019s Castle of Doom studios in Glasgow. It is centred around themes of persistence and acceptance and was inspired by Fairfull\u2019s Scottish heritage.<\/p>\n

Later this year, Lucia & The Best Boys will be playing some of her biggest shows to date, including a headline homecoming show at Glasgow\u2019s Barrowlands on October 23. She will also play at the\u00a0Isle\u00a0Of\u00a0Wight Festival<\/a> next month, and you can see\u00a0all of\u00a0the dates below. Visit here<\/a>\u00a0for tickets.<\/p>\n

Back in 2019, Lucia spoke to\u00a0NME<\/a>\u00a0about \u201cleading Glasgow\u2019s young, vital glam renaissance\u201d and her growth as an artist.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think at first when you start doing this, you really care about the way you come across, and end up comparing and judging yourself a bit too much. This year, I discovered that I don\u2019t really give a fuck,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like the feeling of not knowing what I\u2019m gonna do next. I think it\u2019s more interesting. Nobody has to do one thing. I don\u2019t just like punk music. I don\u2019t just like disco music. I don\u2019t just like pop music. Why not combine everything you love into one? Express yourself truly and it says a lot more.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Last Dinner Party, meanwhile,\u00a0released the single \u2018Big Dog\u2019 earlier this month, alongside a spoken word piece \u2018Come All You Beasts\u2019<\/a>.\u00a0It was their first release since\u00a0their second album \u2018From\u00a0The\u00a0Pyre<\/a>\u2019 last year.<\/p>\n
