Asked whether or not his wife had been placed on any kind of transplant list, Crown Prince Haakon replied: \u2018It\u2019s up to the doctors<\/a>. It\u2019s a medical question, so they\u2019re the ones who decide when it should happen, when it\u2019s right. But I think she\u2019s gotten a lot worse lately, unfortunately.\u2019<\/p>\n

In April, Haakon told the press that Crown Princess Mette-Marit found it \u2018difficult to go out\u2019. She has worn an oxygen cannula during a number of recent royal duties, including to celebrate Constitution Day with King Harald, Queen Sonja, and her son, Prince Sverre Magnus. During the engagement, the Crown Princess was provided with a chair to sit down when she grew too fatigued to stand.<\/p>\n

\u2018I live with a serious illness, and it is what characterises my everyday life now. It is what determines whether I can even stand in my role or not, she told NRK during an interview in March.<\/p>\n
