I’m not going anywhere. Don’t look at negative comments, and even if you see posts about me for the time being, just ignore them. I’m sorry for hurting you guys.”

He added, “Just wait a little longer,” in what many fans interpreted as an indirect response to the controversy.

The message came two days after Dowoon became embroiled in dating and marriage rumors involving Yoo Ji-yu, a YouTuber known as the younger sister of popular creator Yoo Hye-joo.

Online speculation rapidly spread after some users claimed the two appeared to own matching couple items, including keyrings and interior decorations shown on social media and in videos. Rumors intensified further after alleged eyewitness accounts claimed the pair had met with a wedding planner.

As the rumors spread across Korean online communities and social media, fans closely watched whether JYP Entertainment would respond. However, on Tuesday, the agency said only that it had “no position” on the matter.

The fandom reaction quickly turned heated. Some fans accused Dowoon of “betraying” supporters, while others criticized him for uploading a new video to his personal YouTube channel without directly addressing the rumors first.

Comments poured into the channel, reportedly reaching around 4,000 within 12 hours of the upload. Reactions included criticism such as, “Not even dating rumors, but marriage rumors already?” and “Please do not cause trouble for the other members.”

Dowoon’s latest statement has done little to settle the controversy, as he neither confirmed nor denied the rumors directly. Instead, the brief and emotional tone of his message fueled further debate online, with speculation surrounding both the alleged relationship and possible marriage plans continuing to trend among fans.

The controversy once again highlights the intense scrutiny faced by K-pop idols over their private lives. While public dating has gradually become more accepted within the industry, marriage rumors still tend to trigger strong reactions from parts of idol fandom culture.

Meanwhile, Yoo Ji-yu is also active as a YouTuber, following in the footsteps of her older sister Yoo Hye-joo.

This article from Xportsnews is adapted by a generative AI system and edited by The Korea Times.

Dowoon, left, and Yoo Ji-yu / Captured from Dowoon and Yoo Ji-yu’s YouTube channels Dowoon of Day6 has…

[28
93,61,60,278
post-471079","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-music","tag-entertainment","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-music
["GET
