{"id":471151,"date":"2026-05-28T11:06:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T11:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/471151\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T11:06:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T11:06:08","slug":"family-escape-after-suspected-firebomb-attack-on-house-in-ballyvolane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/471151\/","title":{"rendered":"Family escape after suspected firebomb attack on house in Ballyvolane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">A garda investigation is under way after a firebomb was thrown at a house in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.echolive.ie\/corknews\/\">Cork city<\/a> in the early hours of Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The occupants of the home on Meadow Park Avenue in Ballyvolane, on the northside of the city, managed to escape the property.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Members of the family who were inside the house at the time of the attack escaped without serious injuries but were treated for smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Cork City Fire Brigade and garda\u00ed are understood to have arrived at the scene shortly after the alarm was raised.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A garda spokesperson said: &#8220;Garda\u00ed and emergency services attended the scene of criminal damage by fire to a domestic residence in Ballyvolane, Co. Cork shortly before 4:30am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;The local fire service extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
