The one-day event takes place on Oct. 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tMorello announced the festival while on tour with Springsteen during their stop at Nationals Park last night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tCurated by Morello, who is also performing, the fest\u2019s lineup of artists and activists also features Dave Matthews, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black (featuring Roman Morello, Revel Ian, Yoyoka Soma and Hugo Weiss), Serj Tankian, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, grandson, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron, and the Linda Lindas, alongside artwork and a DJ set by Shepard Fairey. Nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and more will appear on the grounds at the fest\u2019s Freedom Village, an area dedicated to civic engagement, grassroots organizing, education, mutual aid, and social impact initiatives. A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales alongside 100 percent of the net proceeds from VIP tickets will benefit VoteRiders, which is a pro-democracy, pro-voter organization, and HeadCount, who will be at the fest help attendees register to vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThe Power to the People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock &amp; roll,\u201d Morello said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action.
