Kammy finally came clean about his past in Thursday’s (28 May) trip to Emmerdale. The mechanic, played by Shebz Miah<\/a>, spent most of the week under suspicion after being accused of starting the fires at Robert Sugden’s farm. <\/p>\n

The allegations quickly put pressure on his growing romance with Belle Dingle, who has slowly been rebuilding her confidence after her abusive marriage to Tom King. Belle was already unsettled by Kammy’s reluctance to introduce her to his family, but things took a darker turn when Aaron and Robert caught him holding a petrol on one of Robert’s fields. <\/p>\n

Convinced he was guilty, Belle turned her back on him and Kammy was told to leave the village once and for all. But after finally opening up to Vinny Dingle about what was really going on, the truth began to emerge – and it turned out Kammy had been hiding far more personal secrets than anyone realised.

1) Kammy isn’t the arsonist in Emmerdale <\/p>\n

Belle and Aaron Dingle were determined to force Kammy out of the village at the start of Thursday’s episode, fully believing he was responsible for the string of suspicious fires. But privately, Kammy insisted to Vinny that he was innocent. <\/p>\n

Viewers already knew Kammy had secretly been sleeping rough<\/a> after falling on hard times financially. Unable to afford somewhere to live, he had been staying in one of Robert’s barns without anyone noticing.

Vinny eventually confirmed Kammy also had an alibi for one of the fires, proving he couldn’t have been responsible. Kammy admitted he’d kept quiet because he was ashamed of his situation, especially as Belle had become increasingly interested in knowing more about his family and life outside the village. The revelation means the mystery surrounding the real arsonist is still very much unsolved. <\/p>\n

2) Kammy was desperate enough to burn his car<\/p>\n

Although Kammy wasn’t behind the farm fires, he was desperate for money. Earlier this week, Robert and Aaron caught him with a lighter and petrol can near his vehicle, leading them to assume he was preparing another attack. In reality, Kammy had planned to torch his own car in the hopes of claiming insurance money. <\/p>\n

It was a reckless move, but one born out of panic and not malice. But now that Kammy’s innocence has been exposed, attention is likely to shift elsewhere as the search for the real culprit continues – and one villager could find a solution<\/a>.

3) Kammy is estranged from his family <\/p>\n

One of Kammy\u2019s biggest bombshells came after he was released from the police station. When Belle confronted him again about why he’d kept avoiding conversations about his relatives, he finally admitted the truth. “I don\u2019t have a family,” he replied. <\/p>\n

The confession stunned Belle, particularly as Kammy had repeatedly dodged questions whenever she brought up Eid, his upbringing or his culture. Until now, viewers had only seen him become uncomfortable whenever the topic was brought up. <\/p>\n

Back at Wishing Well Cottage, Kammy finally explained that his family estrangement was directly linked to the difficult path his life had taken after tragedy struck in his family, years ago.

4) Kammy’s father passed away <\/p>\n

Kammy revealed that his downward spiral began when he was just 15 years old. “My dad died. Unexpected,” he told Belle. “I took it really bad, I didn\u2019t look after my mum how I should have done.” <\/p>\n

Struggling to cope with his grief, Kammy started mixing with the wrong crowd and became involved in stealing cars. He admitted he threw himself into dangerous behaviour because he couldn’t bear being at home. <\/p>\n

“I couldn\u2019t face being at home, I felt like I was letting everyone down,” he said. The emotional scenes helped explain why Kammy has often appeared guarded to let people get too close to him since his first arrival in the village. But there was still more to his story. <\/p>\n

5) He took the blame for his sister <\/p>\n

Kammy then revealed the full story behind why he left home for good. According to him, his sister became terrified that his involvement in car theft would eventually catch up with him. Trying to stop him, she took one of the cars herself – but ended up crashing it. <\/p>\n

When police became involved, Kammy chose to take the blame. Although authorities showed some leniency because of his age and recent bereavement, the incident permanently damaged his relationship with his community. <\/p>\n

“My whole community knew it,” he remembered. “They respected my dad so much and I was nothing like him. I had to go.” Thursday’s episode ended on a much warmer note for Kammy after Cain Dingle gave him permission to stay with the family for as long as he needed. <\/p>\n
