Paris Jackson has \u201cthe most beautiful relationship\u201d with her dad, Michael, now that she has put up boundaries.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, May 26, the Doctor Odyssey actress, 28, appeared on Ozzy Osbourne’s<\/a> son Jack\u2019s Trying Not to Die podcast<\/a> and opened up about the pressure of carrying one of the most famous last names in the world.<\/p>\n Paris spent much of her childhood at the infamous Neverland Ranch<\/a> with her dad and other siblings, Prince and Bigi. Despite once having a very close-knit bond with the singer, she felt it began to turn \u201cparasocial\u201d after his death and as she got older.<\/p>\n She recalled being compelled to post tributes to social media for her dad\u2019s birthday and death anniversary. The actress felt she \u201cneeded to basically mimic how a fan would express their love.\u201d<\/p>\n “There’s definitely a certain element where I felt I had to share everything,\u201d she added. Paris said that her mindset has \u201cdrastically changed in the last few years\u201d as she learned, \u201cI had a personal relationship, not a parasocial relationship.<\/p>\n Paris Jackson felt she had to “mimic how a fan would express their love” for her father(Image: WireImage)<\/p>\n \u201cThe way I express myself now, I don\u2019t want it to feel performative,\u201d she added. \u201cI don’t really feel like any of us owe anyone anything.”<\/p>\n Paris is now learning she can have her own personal relationship with her dad, and she can be private about it. This outlook has benefited her bond with her late dad.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m now like, my relationship is the most beautiful relationship ever,” she mentioned. “I’m in a very beautiful spot with my dad, and I love that, and it’s no one’s business, and I don’t have to share that with anybody.<\/p>\n \u201cThere’s a lot of freedom in that, which is really cool. I’m not going to express my love in a copycat way, copying someone that didn’t know him,” Paris<\/a> concluded. “Because I did. That was my best friend.”<\/p>\n Paris Jackson described her dad as her “best friend”(Image: INSTAGRAM)<\/p>\n Her admission comes just a month after she slammed her father\u2019s biopic Michael, which sees her cousin Jaafar depict the Grammy Award<\/a>-winning singer.<\/p>\n She took to Instagram and revealed she hasn\u2019t been attached to the film, despite her eldest brother Prince serving as an executive producer.<\/p>\n “A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are going to be happy with it,” she said. “The film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy. And they’re going to be happy with it.”<\/p>\n Paris accused the biopic of containing \u201ca lot of inaccuracy\u201d and \u201cjust full-blown lies.\u201d<\/p>\n “At the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me.
