\n\tThe world knows that the members of BTS<\/a> spent about two years in the South Korean military, but only they will ever understand how difficult it really was. <\/p>\n

\n\tRM opened up about the subject in a Weverse<\/a> livestream on Thursday (May 28), recalling an emotional gathering at Jimin\u2019s house that arose from the bandmates fulfilling their mandatory enlistment periods between late 2022 and June 2025. \u201cWhen Jin-hyung was discharged from the military [in June 2024] \u2026 at that time, everyone was in a bad mental state,\u201d he began, according to the site\u2019s auto-generated English translation.<\/p>\n

\n\tAround that time, the Bangtan Boys got together at Jimin\u2019s place for dinner, where \u201ctears\u201d ensued, according to RM. \u201cWe talked about a lot of things,\u201d he continued, noting that one thing he discussed with his bandmates was how he needed \u201cto work harder to hold this [team] together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe band also felt the weight of ARMY\u2019s high expectations for BTS\u2019 return post-military. \u201cAfter making the album, this wait for those who\u2019ve been waiting,\u201d RM added. \u201cI wanted to pay back for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBTS would eventually reunite in front of the world in 2026 looking stronger than ever, dropping Billboard 200<\/a>-topping album ARIRANG and embarking on a global stadium tour that\u2019ll wrap in 2027. All but one of the tracks on the project appeared on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> the week of its debut<\/a>, including No. 25 hit \u201cBody to Body\u201d \u2014 which RM revealed on his livestream used to be titled \u201cBody on Body\u201d and was a lot more sensual before moving toward a theme of solidarity.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was a very sexy song \u2026 the body overlaps with the body, you know what I mean,\u201d he told viewers. <\/p>\n

\n\tRM also said that he didn\u2019t think the band should have reservations about singing lyrics that are more explicit, as the members \u2014 aside from Jung Kook, who\u2019s 28 \u2014 are 30 and up. That said, he didn\u2019t think they should go the sexual route just for the sake of it, and ultimately decided \u201cthat\u2019s not what we need to do right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe livestream comes shortly after BTS appeared at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas Monday (May 25), where the septet accepted artist of the year, best male K-pop artist and song of the summer for \u201cSWIM.\u201d The group also opened the program with a pre-filmed performance of \u201cHooligan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter wrapping a four-night stay at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas on Thursday night, BTS will continue its ARIRANG World Tour with shows in South Korea.<\/p>\n
