\n\tAriana Grande\u2019s Petal era has officially commenced.<\/p>\n
\n\tOn Friday (May 29), the Grammy-winning superstar released \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me,\u201d the lead single from her forthcoming eighth studio album, Petal.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI know that I will find my way from you like flowers from a tomb,\u201d the vocal powerhouse croons on her new single, which was co-produced by Max Martin, ILYA and Grande herself. Listed as the second track on Petal, \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me\u201d also marks Grande\u2019s first non-soundtrack single since 2025\u2019s \u201cTwilight Zone.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tGrande first announced Petal via her official Instagram page on April 28, later describing the 12-track set as \u201clittle feral.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s definitely from a place I\u2019ve been maybe too shy or polite to tap into before,\u201d she said in a video clip. \u201cThis kind of just feels like, \u2018F\u2013k it.\u2019\u201d Petal is set to arrive on July 31 through Grande\u2019s BabyDoll Music imprint label, exclusively licensed to Republic Records. The new album drops in the middle of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which kicks off on June 8 in Oakland, Calif., and wraps with 10 shows at London\u2019s O2 Arena in September.<\/p>\n
\n\tOn Wednesday (May 27), Grande shared a creepy new teaser for the official\u00a0music<\/a>\u00a0video for \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me.\u201d The clip opened with\u00a0Weapons\u00a0actor Justin Long peering into the rearview mirror, slightly adjusting it to reveal Grande\u2019s piercing brown eyes staring back at his frightened face. The full video is set to premiere on Monday, June 1 at 8 a.m. PT.<\/p>\n \n\tPetal is the official follow-up to Grande\u2019s last LP,\u00a0Eternal Sunshine, which debuted atop the\u00a0Billboard 200<\/a>\u00a0in 2024 and spawned a pair of\u00a0Billboard Hot 100<\/a>\u00a0chart-toppers in \u201cYes, And?\u201d and \u201cWe Can\u2019t Be Friends.\u201d Notably, the album returned to the top of the Billboard 200 the following year after the release of its\u00a0Brighter Days Ahead\u00a0deluxe edition, which spawned the Hot 100 top 20 hit \u201cTwilight Zone\u201d (No. 18). <\/p>\n \n\tSince that album\u2019s release, Grande joined fellow Oscar-nominated actress Cynthia Erivo in leading the Wicked and Wicked: For Good soundtracks, which both reached No. 2 on the Hot 100.
