\n\tTom Holland<\/a> knows he won\u2019t play Spider-Man forever, but wants to be a part of the transition when the time comes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor reprises his role of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a> after almost five years and recently pondered about the future.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor whoever\u2019s next, whether that is a Miles Morales or a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman or something like that, I would love to be a part of setting up the next chapter,\u201d Holland told Empire<\/a>. \u201cWhatever that looks like, I don\u2019t know. But if I could do what Downey did for me, then I would be so content swinging off into the sunset.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland\u2019s Spider-Man first appeared in 2016\u2019s\u00a0Captain America: Civil War, officially becoming part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony Pictures would then release Spider-Man: Homecoming the following year with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role of Iron Man. Holland would later reprise his role in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen returning to the role, Holland had some ideas for Spider-Man and was invited into the writers\u2019 room, telling Empire he and producers would \u201cmeet once every two weeks to pitch ideas and discuss our ambitions and what we wanted to try and do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy pitch when I came to the table with it was called \u2018Spider-Puberty\u2019,\u201d he says. \u201cWhat happens if Peter Parker is losing control and things are changing?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201c\u2018Spider-Puberty\u2019 was my tagline pitch to the studio, which was immediately shot down. But they liked the kernel of the idea, and it grew into what we have in the movie now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSpider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release on July 31, 2026. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, stars Holland, who reprises his role as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ.
