\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s the last call, baby, and I\u2019m dying inside,\u201d she howls over a pop beat. \u201cI\u2019m gonna dance, dance, dance \u2019til they turn on the lights\/ And it kills me watching you takin\u2019 her home\/ But sad girls don\u2019t leave \u2019til the last song.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u2018Sad Girls\u2019 is for anyone who has ever been on a dance floor with a broken heart and refused to let it win,\u201d Rexha shared in a statement. \u201cYou\u2019re not okay, but you\u2019re still dancing and showing up for yourself. That\u2019s one of the most powerful things you can do in those moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRexha and Guetta have worked together numerous times in the past, including on \u201cHey Mama,\u201d \u201cSay My Name,\u201d \u201cOne in a Million,\u201d and \u201cI\u2019m Good (Blue).\u201d \u201cSad Girls\u201d will appear on Rexha\u2019s forthcoming LP, Dirty Blonde, out June 12 via Empire. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe album marks her first as an independent artist<\/a>. Rexha enjoyed a string of successful pop EDM hits\u00a0and<\/a>\u00a0collaborations<\/a>\u00a0in the mid-2010s, but in January she revealed that her longtime label, Warner Music, had decided to part ways with her. Her Instagram post announcing the news included a tearful video recorded earlier this year, in which she reacted to the devastating news and expressed uncertainty about what was next.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter parting with Warner, Rexha signed a deal with Empire, an independent distribution company, that also offers some label and publishing services. In March, she released \u201cNew Religion,\u201d her first single as an independent artist, while also announcing\u00a0Dirty Blonde.
