{"id":474085,"date":"2026-05-30T03:00:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T03:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/474085\/"},"modified":"2026-05-30T03:00:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T03:00:12","slug":"gardai-recover-wild-bullfinch-after-search-warrant-in-limerick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/474085\/","title":{"rendered":"Garda\u00ed recover wild bullfinch after search warrant in Limerick\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Garda\u00ed have recovered a wild bullfinch in Limerick after searching a property in Limerick.<\/p>\n<p>As part of a multi-agency operation led by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) and Limerick Dog Warden Services, a premises in St Mary&#8217;s Park was searched under warrant on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The operation was part of an ongoing investigation targeting the illegal trapping and possession of wild birds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A male Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) was surrendered to NPWS operatives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A Garda spokesperson said no arrests have been made at this time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;Investigations are ongoing,&#8221; they added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Anyone wishing to make a report in relation to wildlife crime can contact their local Garda station, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
