Kelly Clarkson<\/a> fought back tears as she discussed the upcoming finale<\/a> of The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/a>. The singer<\/a> previously announced plans to step away from her eponymous talk program<\/a>, which will conclude with its seventh season later this year.<\/p>\n

Rita Wilson, who appeared on the May 27 episode, gave Clarkson props on her Emmy-winning series, resulting in a sweet emotional moment.<\/p>\n

“I just want to say one thing before we go,” Wilson said. “I want to thank you for the years that you’ve been doing your show. I want to thank you for literally changing the game when it came to daytime television.”<\/p>\n

One running segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show is “Kellyoke,” where Clarkson covers songs live on the air.<\/p>\n

“The fact that you love music, that you have brought so much music to daytime, that you have shared with us your voice, your gifts and everyone else’s and your incredible band,” Wilson, who is a musician as well as an actress, added.<\/p>\n

Wilson also said that Clarkson’s show “has made a big change in my life,” bringing the “Since U Been Gone” artist to tears.<\/p>\n

“I’m not crying,” she replied. “That’s so nice.”<\/p>\n

In a statement shared via social media in February<\/a>, Clarkson admitted<\/a> that while it wasn’t “an easy decision,” she’s trying to “prioritize her kids” following the death of their father and her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The talent manager passed away last summer at the age of 48 after a battle with cancer.<\/p>\n

Days later<\/a>, reporting from Us Weekly<\/a> suggested that the American Idol alum didn’t expect The Kelly Clarkson Show to last as long as it did.<\/p>\n

\u201cKelly didn\u2019t realize how all-consuming the show would be,\u201d one source told the outlet. \u201cIt\u2019s her entire life.”<\/p>\n
