\n\tFollowing 28 Years Later<\/a>: Bone Temple, Danny Boyle<\/a> is looking forward to completing the trilogy as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar-winning director recently noted that he would have liked to have filmed the 28 Years Later III<\/a> consecutively with the previous two movies, but he \u201cliterally ran out of time\u201d with the location.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe ran out of time,\u201d he told JoBlo<\/a>. \u201cBecause it\u2019s set in an area of Britain [where] you can only film at certain times of the year. We ran out of time this year \u2013 we literally ran out of time\u2026 So it\u2019ll be, hopefully, fingers crossed, next year. But there\u2019s the enthusiasm there, and Alex (Garland) has done a wonderful script for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn December, Deadline exclusively reported that Sony is moving forward with 28 Years Later III<\/a>, with Alex Garland returning to write. Boyle has previously expressed interest in returning to the director\u2019s chair for the concluding film in the trilogy.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Sony won rights to the 28 Years Later trilogy, it had the option for the third movie but waited to greenlight it. Rather, it shot the first two movies back-to-back, with Boyle returning to direct last year\u2019s 28 Years Later, and Nia DaCosta helming the follow-up 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which premiered earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten by Garland and directed by Boyle, the British zombie franchise began in 2002 with 28 Days Later, followed by 28 Weeks Later (2007).<\/p>\n
