<\/p>\nYesterday, Bollywood Hungama exclusively reported that Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, will release in cinemas on July 3, that is, a week earlier than scheduled. Thus, it\u2019ll now clash with Huma Qureshi-starrer Baby Do Die Do. Incidentally, both films are based on badass, female assassins.<\/p>\n

A few days ago, Bollywood Hungama had exclusively reported that Alia Bhatt\u2019s character in Alpha is unlike anything seen before in the YRF Spy Universe. This makes things a lot more interesting because she isn\u2019t playing a spy that YRF has so far given to the audience with every film.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlpha is definitely a major turn for the YRF Spy Universe,\u201d said a senior trade source familiar with the developments of the film to Bollywood Hungama. \u201cIt presents a lead character who is an assassin, not a spy that we have seen all leads play earlier. For the first time, Aditya Chopra is giving us an origin story that introduces a character that is more grey, more of an anti-hero in tonality. It is refreshing because otherwise it would be extremely boring for us to watch,\u201d said the source.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Baby Do Die Do\u2019s release date announcement poster was dropped on Thursday, May 28, and it proclaims that it’s about \u2018India\u2019s first desi hitwoman\u2019. Its teaser was attached with Maalik, starring Rajkummar Rao, which released on July 11, 2025. It is produced by Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem under the banner of Saleem Siblings and directed by Nachiket Samant. The one-minute teaser focuses on Huma\u2019s character and describes her as \u20181st desi female assassin\u2019. The film also stars Sikandar Kher and his voice can be heard. The asset ends with the lines \u2018Badi story, badi screen pe, coming soon, baby!\u2019<\/p>\n
As for Alpha, it also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. It is directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously helmed the globally acclaimed series The Railway Men.<\/p>\n
