\n\tThe wait for the second season of Heated Rivalry<\/a> may be coming to an end. The show\u2019s creator Jacob Tierney confirmed that he is currently hard at work writing Season 2<\/a> and hopes to deliver new episodes to fan \u201cas soon as possible.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tLast night, Tierney accepted the Showrunner Award at the Critics Choice Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television in Los Angeles, where he offered a virtual speech. \u201cThank you so much to the Critics Choice Association for this amazing and unexpected honor,\u201d Tierney said. \u201cI\u2019m so, so grateful, and I\u2019m so sorry that I cannot be there to celebrate with all of you in person and accept this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cI\u2019m working very hard on Season 2 to get it out to people as soon as possible. I genuinely wish I could be there. I\u2019m so moved by this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTierney previously confirmed that Season 2 would begin shooting in August after he finishes writing the episodes. It\u2019s set to be based on Rachel Reid\u2019s book The Long Game, which continues the relationship between Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams<\/a>) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie<\/a>). Although The Long Game is Reid\u2019s final book in the series (for now<\/a>), Tierney told Deadline<\/a> last year there is a lot of story to tell. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSeason 2 will be based around\u00a0The Long Game,\u201d he said in December. \u201cI don\u2019t have details. I have not started writing, so I\u2019m not just trying to be evasive. I genuinely don\u2019t know yet. I\u2019m so lucky to have a whole world of books here to grab things from, to use, to add color, to add context, to add story. I can tell you I\u2019m really excited to get back to writing. I\u2019m excited to get back into this world with them, and I\u2019m looking forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cHere\u2019s what I can say too, is that\u00a0Heated Rivalry\u00a0will always be centered around Shane and Ilya, this show. But we have a whole universe here, and so there\u2019s loads of other things that we\u2019re thinking about and that we\u2019re gonna explore and that we\u2019re gonna start to take more seriously now that we know that there\u2019s an audience for it. And that\u2019s pretty exciting, so I\u2019m looking forward to really digging into this world.\u201d<\/p>\n
