A year ago, beloved \u201cGravity\u201d and \u201cChildren of Men\u201d filmmaker Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n was in talks to direct a James Bond film, with word he had met with Amazon to discuss a new take on the character. That never happened, and ultimately Denis Villeneuve scored the gig. <\/p>\n

For much of the past year, rumours have also swirled that \u201cEuphoria\u201d and \u201cFrankenstein\u201d actor Jacob Elordi had emerged as a major candidate for the role of James Bond and went as far as meetings for the part.<\/p>\n

While the Bond role is still very much in the midst of casting, Cuaron and Elordi have teamed up for a Chanel advertisement\/short film in which Elordi essentially tries being an action-star in a high-class setting.<\/p>\n

According to Page Six<\/a> (via WoR<\/a>), the resulting Cuaron-directed 136-second short titled \u201cWho Will Take It All?\u201d is already being touted as \u201cthe best Bond audition reel ever created\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the short film, he cracks a safe and is soon engaging in acrobatic back-and-forth with model Libby Taverner as a femme fatale thief who feels like a tribute to Anne Hathaway\u2019s Catwoman in \u201cThe Dark Knight Rises\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elordi was recently kept from serving on the Cannes jury due to a foot injury, with speculation being that he may have sustained that filming this.<\/p>\n

Amazon\/MGM is reportedly looking for a younger actor who can carry the franchise across multiple films and originates from within the Commonwealth (27-year-old Elordi does as he\u2019s from Queensland, Australia)<\/p>\n
