Mick Jagger<\/a> has said he \u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d to get back out on the road with The Rolling Stones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rock legends are preparing to release their 25th\u00a0studio album \u2018Foreign Tongues<\/a>\u2019 on July 10 via Polydor\/Universal Music. It\u2019s set to feature guest appearances from Paul McCartney<\/a>,\u00a0Robert Smith<\/a>,\u00a0Steve\u00a0Winwood<\/a>, and the band\u2019s late drummer Charlie Watts<\/a> \u2013 you can pre-order your copy here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although the new album is on the horizon, The Stones don\u2019t have any tour dates lined up to promote it. In late 2025, they\u00a0confirmed that they\u2019d scrapped plans for a UK and European stadium tour in 2026 <\/a>because\u00a0Keith Richards<\/a> was unable to \u201ccommit\u201d to it, but he recently hinted that they might hit the road in 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jagger\u2019s latest comments on BBC Radio 2\u2019s Tracks of My Years have added fuel to those rumours, and while he and Ronnie Wood<\/a> looked back at the songs that shaped them, the frontman was asked if The Stones would ever tour again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to go on tour, I can\u2019t wait,\u201d Jagger said, before quickly clarifying that fans shouldn\u2019t expect a shock announcement any time soon.\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be this year,\u201d he added. \u201cBut hopefully it\u2019s going to be as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their upcoming album will include the previously released, raw and bluesy \u2018Rough And Twisted<\/a>\u2019, \u2018\u2018In The Stars<\/a>\u2019, and will see\u00a0the band take on the Amy Winehouse classic \u2018You Know I\u2019m No Good\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The full tracklist was revealed earlier this month, with the song titles appearing on streaming devices, but in actual foreign tongues<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At a media event in New York last week,\u00a0the band also revealed how they ended up working with The Cure\u2019s Robert Smith<\/a>. \u201cHe was standing there with his back to me and this long gown on and when he turned around, he was covered in lipstick,\u201d\u00a0Jagger\u00a0said. \u201cAnd I said, I never met him before, \u2018You\u2019re Robert Smith of The Cure\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he said, \u2018Yeah, we\u2019ve never met\u2019. And I said, \u2018While you\u2019re here, you better go and do something\u2019. That\u2019s how collaborations work sometimes,\u201d he smiled.<\/p>\n

The whole record was brought to life in less than one month at Metropolis Studios in West London, with production from\u00a0Andrew Watt<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who also worked with them\u00a0on\u00a02024\u2019s \u2018Hackney Diamonds<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis,\u201d said Jagger. \u201cIt was a very intense few weeks recording \u2018Foreign Tongues\u2019.\u00a0We had 14 great\u00a0tracks\u00a0and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Paul McCartney<\/a>\u00a0has looked back on the \u201cexcitement\u201d he felt while working with\u00a0the band\u00a0in\u00a0NME\u2019s latest\u00a0In Conversation<\/a> video series, saying he was glad he \u201cwasn\u2019t blas\u00e9 about it\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marking his second appearance on a Stones record in the last few years after featuring on \u2018Hackney Diamonds<\/a>\u2018, McCartney told us it was \u201creally exciting\u201d, because he didn\u2019t normally play \u201cas a session guy\u201d.<\/p>\n
