\n\tMick Jagger<\/a> has said he \u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d to take The Rolling Stones<\/a> back on the road, though fans shouldn\u2019t expect an imminent announcement.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking on BBC Radio 2\u2019s Tracks of My Years<\/a> alongside Ronnie Wood, Jagger was asked whether the Stones would ever tour again. \u201cI\u2019d love to go on tour, I can\u2019t wait,\u201d he said, before tempering expectations. \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be this year. But hopefully it\u2019s going to be as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe comments come after the band scrapped plans for a U.K. and European stadium tour in 2026 in late 2025, with reports that Keith Richards was unable to \u201ccommit\u201d to the run. Richards has since hinted at a potential return to the road in 2027, and Jagger\u2019s latest remarks add weight to that possibility.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe interview arrives ahead of the band\u2019s 25th studio album Foreign Tongues<\/a>, due July 10 via Polydor\/Universal Music. The record was made in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in West London with producer Andrew Watt \u2014 who also helmed 2024\u2019s Hackney Diamonds \u2014 and features guest appearances from Paul McCartney, The Cure<\/a>\u2018s Robert Smith, Steve Winwood and the late Charlie Watts. <\/p>\n

\n\tJagger revealed the Robert Smith collaboration came about by chance at an industry event. \u201cHe was standing there with his back to me and this long gown on and when he turned around, he was covered in lipstick,\u201d Jagger said. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018You\u2019re Robert Smith of The Cure.\u2019 He said, \u2018Yeah, we\u2019ve never met.\u2019 And I said, \u2018While you\u2019re here, you better go and do something.\u2019 That\u2019s how collaborations work sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcCartney, who also appeared on Hackney Diamonds, spoke to NME about his contribution, calling it \u201creally exciting.\u201d \u201cIt was really nice to just show up at a studio with your bass and just say, \u2018Right, where do you want me?’\u201d he said. \u201cYou start playing, and they show you the song, and I start thinking, \u2018I\u2019m playing with the Stones!’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tForeign Tongues includes previously released tracks \u201cRough and Twisted\u201d and \u201cIn the Stars,\u201d as well as a cover of the late Amy Winehouse<\/a>\u2018s \u201cYou Know I\u2019m No Good.\u201d The full tracklist was revealed earlier this month with song titles appearing on streaming devices listed in various foreign languages. <\/p>\n
