RM<\/a> has opened up about how the members of BTS<\/a> were left in a bad mental state during their military service.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, all seven members of the group reunited following their mandatory military service, which forced a hiatus on the band in 2022<\/a>.\u00a0Now, RM has detailed a conversation that happened in 2024, a year before the whole group had completed their enlistment period.<\/p>\n

Speaking on a Weverse livestream on Thursday (May 28), RM said that a gathering took place at Jimin<\/a>\u2018s house. \u201cWhen Jin<\/a>-hyung was discharged from the military\u2026 at that time, everyone was in a bad mental state,\u201d he said (per an English translation).<\/p>\n

According to RM, there were \u201ctears\u201d at the dinner. \u201cWe talked about a lot of things,\u201d he said, adding he felt he needed \u201cto work harder to hold this [team] together.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to say he wanted to make their new album worth the wait for fans, saying: \u201cAfter making the album, this wait for those who\u2019ve been waiting,\u201d adding: \u201cI wanted to pay back for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the K-pop icons kicked off their huge 2026 and 2027 world tour at<\/a>\u00a0Goyang Stadium in South Korea, and broke out tracks from \u2018ARIRANG\u2019 for the first time<\/a>. That gig saw them debut \u2018Body to Body\u2019, \u2018Hooligan\u2019, \u20182.0\u2019, and \u2018Like Animals\u2019, with\u00a0RM performing seated for much of the set after spraining his ankle<\/a>\u00a0in rehearsals.<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0caught the show and gave it four-and-a-half stars<\/a>, with Rhian Daly writing: \u201cThroughout, it\u2019s clear that they\u2019re still as committed to BTS as before their enforced break for military service, RM referring to decisions they\u2019ve made so they \u201ccan keep doing this for a long time\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a sentiment that makes the fireworks-heavy final song, \u2018Into The Sun\u2019, feel beautifully optimistic \u2013 this might be the end of the show, but BTS\u2019 moment in the sun is far from over.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band will also be joining Madonna<\/a>, and\u00a0Shakira<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0co-headlining the first ever World Cup Final Halftime Show.<\/a><\/p>\n

Before kicking off the dates, they held\u00a0a free concert in Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul<\/a>, which was livestreamed to over 190 countries on Netflix and welcomed roughly 104,000 fans \u2013\u00a0breaking the record for the largest-ever public concert in South Korea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018ARIRANG\u2019 was given a four-star review from\u00a0NME,<\/a>\u00a0which read: \u201cMuch of \u2018ARIRANG\u2019 negotiates polar ideas \u2013 BTS as heroes or normal people, the buzz of the spotlight and the hush of their private worlds, longing for the euphoric parts of life to continue versus wanting to get off of the ride.\u201d<\/p>\n
