One of Cork’s<\/a> most well-known city centre restaurants is set to shut its doors after more than 25 years. Known for their fantastic breakfasts and cosy evening dining, 14A has long been a staple of the Cork city food<\/a> scene, but today, management confirmed their final day of service.<\/p>\n

In a notice shared on social media, the owners thanked customers for their decades of loyalty and for all the fond memories made at 14A over the years. The closure follows the end of their current lease at their location along French Church Street.<\/p>\n

The owners also took the time to thank all the staff, past and present, who worked hard to build 14A into what it is today.<\/p>\n

For those looking to have one last meal before the doors shut for good, the owners confirmed that Sunday, June 14, will be the final day of trading.<\/p>\n

However, for those who won’t be able to make it before then, any outstanding vouchers will be honoured at 14a’s sister restaurant, Amicus, which is only a stone’s throw away.<\/p>\n

The notice shared by 14a this afternoon reads: “Dear Customers & Friends, after 25 truly wonderful years, the time has come to say goodbye.<\/p>\n

“As our lease comes to an end, we close this chapter on French Church Street with full hearts and gratitude. Our final day will be Sunday, 14th June 2026.<\/p>\n

“Thank you so much for your loyal support, friendship and memories shared with us over the years. It has been a privilege to welcome you through our doors, and we are grateful for every visit.<\/p>\n

“To all the incredible staff, past and present, a very special thank you. We will be forever grateful for your hard work, dedication, and the many good times we have shared together at this amazing location in The Huguenot Quarter.<\/p>\n

“While we close this chapter on French Church Street, we look forward to welcoming you again at Amicus on Paul Street.”<\/p>\n

Today’s closure confirmation follows news of another long-running Rebel favourite shutting its doors.<\/p>\n

The owners of Chestnut, one of the most renowned restaurants in West Cork,<\/a> have announced that this summer will be their last, after eight years in beautiful Ballydehob.<\/p>\n
