\n\tEXCLUSIVE: The Palestine<\/a> Film Institute (PFI) has set the lineup of filmmakers and work-in-progress projects that it will present this year as part of its annual showcase at Sheffield DocFest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tPresented in collaboration with Sheffield DocFest and supported by the British Council, the PFI Showcase takes place on 13 June at 10:00 BST at the Creative Lounge, Workstation. The selected projects are:<\/p>\n

\n\tSynopsis: As the filmmaker\u2019s father \u2013 a prominent Palestinian political leader from the Galilee \u2013 is convicted of \u201cincitement to violence and terrorism\u201d, his daughter begins filming, capturing family life and resistance before the Israeli state possibly returns him to prison.<\/p>\n

\n\tSynopsis: A Palestinian journalist at Columbia University must navigate the tension between objectivity and identity as she documents a student movement that mirrors her own struggle for truth and belonging.<\/p>\n

\n\tSynopsis: A Palestinian artist discovers his grandfather\u2019s forgotten photo archive from 1940s Gaza. What begins as a family heirloom becomes a fight to preserve the memory of a place on the brink of erasure.<\/p>\n

\n\t> Director Marta Miskaryan and Producer Alice Hughes will be in attendance<\/p>\n

\n\tFilmmaker and educator Saeed Taji Farouky, a member of the PFI, will be at Sheffield with the delegation. Farouky said the Institute\u2019s delegation to Sheffield \u201calways has special resonance because of the city\u2019s history of radical and popular mobilisation for justice and liberation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSheffield is the perfect partner to build up the Palestinian film industry with us, to find opportunities for these phenomenal filmmakers on an international scale, and to showcase the incomparable talent of Palestinian artists,\u201d Farouky said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tOutside of the PFI\u2019s showcase, several other Palestinian projects will be at Sheffield. Yasmin Fedda\u2019s To Make Things Grow has been selected for the festival\u2019s MeetMarket, while completed Palestinian feature films in the festival programme include:<\/p>\n
