Muse<\/a> have dropped the funk-led, French house-tinged single \u2018Nightshift Superstar\u2019, tune in below.<\/p>\n

The track arrives today (Friday June 5) and is the latest to be released from the band\u2019s 10th album, \u2018The Wow! Signal<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Whereas the last single \u2018Hexagons<\/a>\u2019 was the band nod back to their early sound, and previous tracks \u2018Unravelling<\/a>\u2018 and \u2018Be With you<\/a>\u2019 embraced maximalism and cinematic instrumental layering, the latest taster of \u2018The Wow! Signal\u2019 sees Matt Bellamy<\/a> and co. push their sound into new experimental avenues.<\/p>\n

Centred around a driving disco rhythm, \u2018Nightshift Superstar\u2019 comes to life with the funky French house chorus, and is completed with shimmery guitar riffs, synth flurries, and heartfelt vocals.<\/p>\n

\u201cKiss that kills the pain, I crave again \/ Now I can\u2019t stay clean, you\u2019re my darkest dream \/ I need you one more time \/ Dancing free, you are a nightshift superstar,\u201d Bellamy sings, capturing a similar sci-fi landscape to that of recent single \u2018Cryogen<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

While the new track stands out from the other singles shared from \u2018The Wow! Signal\u2019, the nods to disco and funk aren\u2019t entirely new to Muse, having also been referenced in 2012\u2019s \u2018Panic Station\u2019 and fan favourite \u2018Supermassive Black Hole\u2019.<\/p>\n

The new album is set for release on June 26 (pre-order here<\/a>) and gets its title from one of the most compelling interstellar mysteries of the last century \u2013 a powerful 72-second radio burst detected in 1977, which originated from the constellation Sagittarius.<\/p>\n

Its bandwidth and intensity suggested a possible extraterrestrial source.<\/p>\n

When the anomaly was first discovered, the astronomer famously circled the sequence \u20186EQUJ5\u2019 and wrote \u2018WOW!\u2019 on the printout beside it \u2013 giving the signal its name.<\/p>\n

Muse have also announced a 2026 North American arena tour with Bloc Party, The Temper Trap and Portugal. The Man<\/a>.
