\n\tJames Cameron and Pixar are set to deliver a blockbuster streaming month for Disney+ as \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash\u201d and \u201cHoppers\u201d arrive on the platform after successful box office runs in movie theaters. Cameron\u2019s \u201cFire and Ash\u201d expands the universe of Pandora after two of the biggest movies in film history, \u201cAvatar\u201d and \u201cAvatar: The Way of Water.\u201d Pixar\u2019s \u201cHoppers,\u201d meanwhile, represents the iconic animation studio at its most adventurous and freewheeling. Expect both films to dominate the streaming charts this June.<\/p>\n
\n\tElsewhere on streaming this month, Netflix brings Jennifer Lopez and \u201cTed Lasso\u201d favorite Brett Goldstein together for the steamy romantic-comedy \u201cOffice Romance.\u201d Lopez is an icon of the genre thanks to \u201cThe Wedding Planner,\u201d \u201cMaid in Manhattan\u201d and more, and co-writer Goldstein wrote the movie as a star vehicle for her. All signs point to \u201cOffice Romance\u201d being a breezy summer hit for Netflix this month.<\/p>\n

\n\tJames Cameron\u2019s third \u201cAvatar\u201d adventure, \u201cFire and Ash,\u201d arrives on Disney+ this month after earning $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office, down significantly from the $2 billion-plus grosses of \u201cAvatar\u201d and \u201cAvatar: The Way of Water\u201d but still a mighty sum in today\u2019s blockbuster age. Expect the title to be a summer streaming hit for Disney alongside Pixar\u2019s \u201cHoppers,\u201d which also makes it streaming premiere this month (see below).\u00a0Variety\u00a0hailed \u201cFire and Ash\u201d<\/a>\u00a0as an improvement over \u201cThe Way of Water\u201d and praised its \u201cbolder and tighter\u201d storytelling and \u201camazing\u201d action scenes.<\/p>\n \tHoppers (Disney+)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tPixar\u2019s \u201cHoppers\u201d impressed the box office earlier this year with $372 million worldwide and earned critical acclaim, a much-needed win for the animated studio ahead of this summer\u2019s \u201cToy Story 5.\u201d\u00a0Variety\u00a0called the movie \u201c\u2018Bambi\u2019 on crack\u201d in a\u00a0Critic\u2019s Pick review<\/a>:\u00a0\u201c\u2018Hoppers\u2019 never stops surprising you in rudely antic ways, and that\u2019s the essence of its delight\u2026 \u00a0it\u2019s top-drawer Pixar, a reminder that when this studio is firing on all cylinders, it can take you someplace you\u2019ve never imagined.\u201d<\/p>\n \tOffice Romance (Netflix)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tJennifer Lopez returns to her rom-com roots with the Netflix original \u201cOffice Romance,\u201d co-starring and written by \u201cTed Lasso\u201d Emmy winner Bret Goldstein. The movie is billed as a \u201craunchy romantic comedy about a secret office romance that two workaholics get in when they start thinking with their hearts.\u201d Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Bradley Whitford and Edward James Olmos also star.<\/p>\n \tForbidden Fruits (June 26 on Shudder)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\t\u201cMeredith Alloway\u2019s commanding first feature is a kicky and stylized shopping-mall comedy of fashion and slang and feminist wrath,\u201d reads\u00a0Variety\u2019s review<\/a> of \u201cForbidden Fruits.\u201d The film, a mash-up of \u201cMean Girls\u201d and \u201cThe Craft,\u201d centers on a coven of witches (played by Lili Reinhart, Alexandra Shipp and Victoria Pedretti) whose lives are upended when they welcome a new member (played by \u201cThe Summer I Turned Pretty\u201d favorite Lola Tung). And is any one of the three more powerful?\u201d<\/p>\n \tEPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert (Paramount+)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tBaz Luhrmann\u2019s \u201cEPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert\u201d will stream on Paramount+ this month after a theatrical release earlier this year. Luhrmann, who scored a handful of Oscar nominations for his Austin Butler-starring \u201cElvis\u201d movie, tackles the music icon in the documentary format with this movie that features a\u00a0wealth of never-before-seen footage from Presley\u2019s Vegas residency in the 1970s. The film also includes rare 16mm footage from \u201cElvis on Tour\u201d and footage from the Graceland archive.\u00a0<\/p>\n \tLorne (Peacock)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tDirected by Oscar winner Morgan Neville, \u201cLorne\u201d is a behind-the-scenes portrait of the comedy icon and \u201cSNL\u201d creator Lorne Michaels. The documentary traces Michaels\u2019 journey from a young Canadian writer to the force behind \u201cSaturday Night Live,\u201d the late-night sketch show that has shaped American comedy and pop culture for more than five decades. The film draws on exclusive archival material, plus candid interviews with Michaels and the comedians he turned into superstars.<\/p>\n \tYour Fault: London (June 17 on Prime Video)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tAsha Banks and Matthew Broome return as Noah and Nick in Prime Video\u2019s \u201cYour Fault: London,\u201d the sequel to the hit 2025 romance drama \u201cMy Fault: London.\u201d Per the synopsis: \u201cAfter the explosive events of \u2018My Fault: London,\u2019 Noah and Nick return \u2014 stronger, closer, and more in love than ever. But as life begins to pull them in different directions, their relationship faces its toughest challenge yet. Noah heads to Oxford to pursue her studies, while Nick finds himself consumed by the growing demands of work. When new people enter their lives, stirring unexpected emotions and lingering jealousy, cracks begin to form. Trust is tested, passions flare, and the bond they once thought unbreakable starts to strain.\u201d<\/p>\n \tVoicemails for Isabelle (June 19 on Netflix)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\t\u201cOffice Romance\u201d isn\u2019t the only Netflix original romance movie hoping to score big on streaming this June. Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson headline \u201cVoicemails for Isabelle.\u201d The synopsis reads: \u201cJill copes with her sister\u2019s death by leaving her voicemails chronicling her chaotic life in San Francisco. When the number is unknowingly reassigned, an elusive Austin real estate agent begins receiving the hilariously confessional messages.\u201d The supporting cast includes Harry Shum Jr., Lukas Gage, Ciara Bravo, and Nick Offerman, among others.<\/p>\n \tIn the Hand of Dante (June 24 on Netflix)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tNetflix picked up Julian Schnabel\u2019s \u201cIn the Hand of Dante\u201d after its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last year. The synopsis reads: \u201cTime and space collide in parallel lives spanning 700 years when author Nick Tosches (Oscar Isaac) is drawn into a violent quest to confirm the origins of a manuscript believed to be Dante\u2019s \u2018The Divine Comedy,\u2019 written in the poet\u2019s own hand. After the sudden death of his daughter, Nick is summoned from self-imposed exile by a mafia don (John Malkovich) for his expertise on the Italian writer. With the help of an unpredictable assassin named Louie (Gerard Butler), the pair embark on a dark and murderous journey to steal and authenticate the priceless work.\u201d<\/p>\n \tScarlet (June 5 on Netflix)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tAcademy Award-nominated Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda\u2018s latest film \u201cScarlet\u201d centers on a brave princess who transcends time and space. The visually arresting anime movie is a reinterpretation of Shakespeare\u2019s \u201cHamlet,\u201d with a new ending and a gender-swapped protagonist. From \u201cThe Boy and the Beast\u201d to \u201cBelle,\u201d nearly all Hosoda\u2019s films straddle two separate time periods or worlds \u2014 real life and escapist virtual realms \u2014 in a strategy that tests his protagonists\u2019 capacity to face the challenges in their daily lives.<\/p>\n \tJimpa (June 4 on Hulu)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\tOlivia Colman and John Lithgow\u2018s queer family drama \u201cJimpa\u201d follows filmmaker Hannah (Colman), who brings her non-binary teenager Frances \u2013 played by Aud Mason-Hyde \u2013 to Amsterdam to reconnect with her gay father, Jimpa (Lithgow). When Frances decides they want to stay with Jimpa for a year abroad, Hannah is forced to consider her beliefs about parenting and finally confront old stories about the past. The movie takes inspiration from director and co-writer Sophie Hyde\u2019s family and upbringing.<\/p>\n \tKeeper (June 5 on Hulu)<\/p>\n \t\t\t \n\t\u201cLonglegs\u201d and \u201cThe Monkey\u201d director Osgood Perkins is behind \u201cKepper,\u201d a haunted cabin thriller\u00a0starring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland as a couple whose woodsy vacation takes a nightmarish turn when she begins seeing visions of undead spirits.
