A musician has been left traumatised after he was thrown from a moving car by thugs posing as customers to buy his keyboard on DoneDeal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Duman suffered a broken ankle along with a multitude of scrapes and cuts during the terrifying stitch-up earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old, who is originally from Turkiye<\/a>, revealed he is now terrified whenever he has to leave his house and told how he hasn\u2019t performed since the robbery.<\/p>\n

Opening up about his ordeal, Mustafa said he decided to sell a rare keyboard, a ‘Korg Pa3x,’ on DoneDeal in March. The item was listed for \u20ac1,500.<\/p>\n

He said an account on the platform named ‘Tony’ was interested, and a meeting was scheduled for the evening of March 24. Mustafa said this took place near his home on Jamestown Road in Finglas<\/a>, north Dublin, after 9pm.<\/p>\n

Three men in a car pulled up and told Mustafa they wanted to check if the keyboard would fit in their car’s boot. After it was placed inside, they said they needed to go to an ATM to withdraw cash.<\/p>\n

The thugs told Mustafa to get into the back passenger seat, and they would go together. But as he tried to get in, the driver began to speed up while the man in the back of the car began kicking him repeatedly.<\/p>\n

Mustafa said one leg was inside the car while the other was out on the road. The thugs eventually fled after Mustafa fell.<\/p>\n

The talented performer, who has lived in Ireland for more than four years, said he snapped his ankle and suffered deep cuts, bruises and scrapes to his legs and face.<\/p>\n

Speaking through a friend, who was translating, Mustafa told the Irish Mirror<\/a>: “I feared I was going to die.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m terrified to leave my house, and I worry every day that they\u2019re going to come back and kill me. What frightens me most is that they know where I live, but I don\u2019t know where they live.<\/p>\n

“Since the attack, I haven\u2019t been able to perform, which was my source of income, so it\u2019s had a huge psychological impact on my mental health.”<\/p>\n

In a warning to the public, Mustafa said: “If people are selling stuff online, they should meet in a public location where there is CCTV and bring somebody else with them to the deal as well.”<\/p>\n

Following the attack, Mustafa ultimately went back to Turkey for treatment.<\/p>\n

He said he passed on details of the attackers to the Gardai<\/a>, including what he believes to be one of the men\u2019s names, but has been left frustrated at the lack of progress in the case.<\/p>\n

Mustafa said he believes that if this robbery had taken place in Turkiye, the police would have identified the perpetrators and arrested them in just a few minutes.<\/p>\n

He ultimately decided to make a complaint to Fiosr\u00fa – the Office of the Police Ombudsman.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Gardai said: “An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na does not comment on third-party comments.<\/p>\n

“Garda\u00ed were alerted to an alleged robbery from a man on the Jamestown Road in Finglas that occurred at approximately 9:40pm on the 24th March, 2026.<\/p>\n

“Investigation remains ongoing.”<\/p>\n

Fiosr\u00fa said: “Fiosr\u00fa does not confirm or deny the existence of complaints made by or against individuals. This is to protect the investigative process, and the rights both of complainants, and those complained against. Fiosr\u00fa is not in a position to comment further.”<\/p>\n

The Irish Mirror contacted DoneDeal for comment.<\/p>\n
