Chiedozie Ogbene\u2019s equaliser ensured the Republic of Ireland continued their good run of results as they drew 1-1 with World Cup co-hosts Canada in Montreal.<\/p>\n

Ogbene reacted quickest to slot home after Troy Parrott\u2019s penalty was saved as Ireland ended their season with another solid result.<\/p>\n

They have lost just once in their last eight games, including five wins, with the only defeat against the Czech Republic on penalties.<\/p>\n

Canada went ahead midway through the first half when a corner was flicked on by Parrott and found the Irish net via the unfortunate Jake O\u2019Brien.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien made amends with a good block to deny Hull\u2019s Liam Millar as the hosts threatened to stretch their lead before the interval.<\/p>\n

Ireland were given a route back into the match just before the hour when Jamie McGrath was caught by a high foot in the box by Cyle Larin.<\/p>\n

Parrott\u2019s penalty was well saved by Maxime Crepeau, but Ipswich winger Ogbene won the race to sweep the loose ball into the net.<\/p>\n

Larin went close to restoring Canada\u2019s lead, while Crepeau produced another fine save to deny Tottenham\u2019s Mason Melia a goal on his second cap.<\/p>\n
