I know people were mentioning it but I just work from job to job and I see if something suits me or not.

‘The Late Late Show is an institution. If you grow up in Ireland, most of us grew up watching it and how it evolved and changed.’

Baz said he preferred if the show went in a different direction with it’s format, saying interviewing normal people with extraordinary stories was an ‘element’ to the Late Late Show that he liked.

‘I always like that original mix of what people would consider normal people with extraordinary stories.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="700" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/ie/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/The-Money-List-Baz-Ashmawy-5501-0253.jpg" alt="RTÉ, The Money List, Baz Ashmawy. But nobody has spoken to me recently regarding that.’

The 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy Emmy award winner believes Patrick will come back for another series but believes it can be a ‘poison chalice’ to some extent.

‘I think he might come back…. They probably have a shortlist of people if Patrick doesn’t come back but I think he has been doing a good job. I really like him.

‘It’s not an easy gig and to a certain degree it is a poison chalice. It depends on what you like and what you want.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="700" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/ie/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/patricklls.jpg" alt="Patrick Kielty on the Late Late Show. Pic: Late Late Show / Instagram

‘I’ve done every type of presenting there is. I’m doing this so long, there is no element of me saying of I don’t do that. I do whatever I’m paid to do. But I’ve been lucky enough to do things that I want to do so I don’t do things just for the sake of it.

‘It’s a hard question for me to answer about doing the Late Late Show because I don’t know their vision for the Late Late Show is and I haven’t spoken to anyone.

‘Audiences are so smart. If you do something that you don’t like, they’ll see it straight away so you’re much better off doing something. Even if it’s not critically acclaimed, at least you’ve done it really well.’

TV star Baz Ashmawy has confirmed he hasn’t been approached to audition for the Late Late Show –…

[29
93,61,60,282
post-486122","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tv","tag-entertainment","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-tv
["GET
