{"id":486195,"date":"2026-06-06T13:37:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-06T13:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/486195\/"},"modified":"2026-06-06T13:37:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T13:37:10","slug":"love-island-pro-footballer-says-family-comes-first-after-quitting-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/486195\/","title":{"rendered":"Love Island pro footballer says \u2018family comes first\u2019 after quitting show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Love Island contestant George Knight has said his \u201cfamily comes first\u201d after leaving the villa for \u201cprivate reasons\u201d just days after joining the show.<\/p>\n<p>The professional footballer, 28, joined the ITV reality programme in Tuesday\u2019s episode as a bombshell along with Yasmin Hadlow, 23, and the pair were given the secret mission of dumping two of the other contestants from the island within 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced that Knight had left the show on Thursday \u201cfor private reasons\u201d, and he has since shared a post on Instagram saying that he will not be going into any \u201cfurther detail\u201d surrounding his shock departure.<\/p>\n<p>Knight shared his promotional image from the show on Friday night, as well as a snap alongside a family member, and wrote: \u201cFamily comes first, always.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeaving the @LoveIsland Villa was a decision made in order to be with my family. Out of respect for them, I\u2019d prefer not to go into any further detail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you to everyone who has reached out with kind messages and support!
