It was Carla Ward\u2019s side that got the scoring underway early in the first half, as Kyra Carusa scored, but as the rain came bucketing down in P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh, Dominique Janssen put the Dutch on level terms with a penalty with 20 minutes to go.<\/p>\n
But, Ireland went straight back up the other end of the field, and Abbie Larkin was able to score to put her side back in the lead. In what was turning into a topsy-turvy game in Cork, Victoria Pelova equalised once again for the Dutch, but then came a moment that could go down in history.<\/p>\n

Donegal\u2019s very own Amber Barrett was able to tap the ball into the net after an Anna Patten header from a Marrissa Sheeva cross to give Ireland the lead. A late Leanne Kiernan red card could change anything as the Girls recorded a massive win in their World Cup campaign. <\/p>\n
That win means that if Ireland beat France in Grenoble next Tuesday, they\u2019ll qualify for next year\u2019s World Cup in Brazil; if they lose, they\u2019ll still head to the play-offs as a seeded side.<\/p>\n
\u2018That was bloody mental, I must say,\u2019 Barrett told the press after the win.\u2019I think how resilient we were in those last 20 minutes, then equalising, us going straight back the other end and scoring.<\/p>\n

\u2018I always have this belief in myself, that I only need one chance in any type of game, sometimes it falls for you, sometimes it doesn\u2019t, but it\u2019s about the resilience to keep going.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018It doesn\u2019t matter what kind of form I\u2019m in, I\u2019m always really confident I\u2019ll have a chance to score \u2013 luckily tonight I was able to get one, although it was probably harder to miss than to score, but I\u2019ll definitely take it.\u2019<\/p>\n
She continued: \u2018I\u2019m one of very, very few people who gets to represent their country and wear that green jersey, it\u2019s an honour to have it on your back.<\/p>\n

\u2018You wear it with pride, you give it everything you have in your body, I love my country, I love scoring goals for Ireland, but I love winning games with Ireland more than anything in the world.\u2019<\/p>\n
She even has time to joke about the legality of her winning goal. \u2018I was probably a wee bit offside, but thank God we\u2019re not going to look at VAR.\u2019<\/p>\n
