That includes Pok\u00e9mon GO gameplay at the Field Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The real-world GO Fest pop-up at the Field Museum has also been suspended, but the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/museums-zoos\/2026\/05\/22\/two-heavyweights-from-different-eras-combine-in-the-fields-newest-exhibition-pokemon-fossil-museum\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pok\u00e9mon Fossil Museum exhibit<\/a> at the museum remains open.<\/p>\n<p>Pok\u00e9mon GO is an augmented reality game that requires players to use mobile devices to \u201chunt\u201d real locations to find and catch Pok\u00e9mon species, train them and battle with other players.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day festival <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/news\/2026\/06\/05\/fans-reminisce-as-kids-set-out-on-mission-to-catch-em-all-at-pokemon-go-fest\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">began Friday<\/a> and continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Gameplay at Grant Park and other city locations are continuing uninterrupted, organizers said.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the several museums in the area, the Beyond Wonderland music festival is happening Saturday and Sunday at nearby Northerly Island, and a USA soccer match was played Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field.<\/p>\n<p>This year is the 10-year anniversary of the mobile Pok\u00e9mon GO game and the 30th anniversary of the Pok\u00e9mon franchise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Portions of the Pok\u00e9mon GO Fest gameplay has been suspended near the Museum Campus \u201cin response to several&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":487125,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[19],"tags":[61,60,80,210,211,212],"class_list":["post-487124","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-virtual-reality","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-technology","tag-virtual-reality","tag-virtualreality","tag-vr"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/487124","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=487124"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/487124\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/487125"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=487124"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=487124"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=487124"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
